How your painting travels

Every painting ships from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Within 7 days of your order it is packed by hand, photographed sealed, and handed to an express courier. You get an email with the tracking number, and you can follow the parcel from your order page.

Most paintings travel rolled: taken off their wooden frame, rolled with the paint facing out around a wide tube, wrapped, and packed inside a rigid tube. This is how galleries ship canvas internationally — it is safer than a large crate and keeps shipping affordable. Paintings that can't be rolled, such as works on board, travel flat and are marked “Ships stretched” on their page. Our framing guide explains what to do when your painting arrives.

Delivery time is up to the courier and customs. You will see the courier's estimate once the painting has shipped. Someone may need to sign for the parcel.

Insurance

Every shipment is insured for the full price of the paintings inside. If a painting is lost or damaged on the way, you will not be out of pocket.

Customs and import fees

United States

We pay all US customs, duty and brokerage fees. Original paintings are generally duty-free in the US, and any processing fees are already included in the price. There is nothing to pay when the parcel arrives.

Everywhere else

Shipping to your country is shown at checkout. Import duties, taxes and courier handling fees in your country are not included, and the courier will collect them on delivery. If your country isn't offered at checkout, write to us for a quote.

If something arrives damaged

Please open your parcel soon after it arrives and look at the painting in good light. If anything was damaged in transit, write to us from your order page within 7 days of delivery and attach a few photos of the painting and the packaging. Keep the packaging until we reply. We will refund you in full or, if you'd prefer to keep a painting with minor damage, agree a partial refund with you.

Returns

If a painting isn't right for you, you can return it within 14 days of delivery. Write to us from your order page first and we'll send return instructions. The painting must come back in the condition it arrived, packed the way it was sent.

Return shipping to Ulaanbaatar is paid by you, and the parcel must be insured for the painting's full price. Once the painting is back with us and checked, we refund the price of the painting to your original payment method.

Cancelling

You can cancel for a full refund until your order is packed — use the button on your order page. After that, the returns policy applies.
